The Fourth Wave

Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,

Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people.

Why the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Because I dont believe that the true human being is truly free. The inner being is enslaved beyond knowing to the effects of internal subliminal negative effects of our upbringing and societal social norms.

This I have termed the Fourth Wave in The Livingness which is undercurrent to the top 3 waves we are also vaguely familiar with. The top 3 waves are described elsewhere. Briefly they refer to our progressive loss of consciousness as emotions increase. All of this sits on top of the 4th wave they are not aware of at all. We operate on a rocky base!

For example, research psychologists use a normal group to compare with a criterion group (say a higher anxiety group). The normal/control group are ‘other’ people from society possibly first year psychology students who are deemed ‘normal’.

Lets look at this. If we look at the Videotape,  Fishbowls  & Modernity concepts, we see a much different picture. Our upbringing is affected by fitting in at school or home, conforming, being afraid of not fitting in, being judged, fear of failure, fear of abnormality & so on.

Modernity, informs us we must achieve/compete in order to have inherent value: The external materialism will create internal spiritual value! If we look at Identity formation in teens there is no separate identity just a new conforming to a peer group. People are so afraid of each other. This is what is normal!

This normal world can bring itself to the brink of nuclear destruction. Why? This normal world could form a church that could burn innocent women alive as witches in the name of the Lord! 

Oh in case you were retreating into safety thinking that was all in the past. Do you honestly think the world in 3023 (adding a thousand years) wont look back on us as barbarians and wierdos?  Look back to 1023 (the dark ages & reflect). Simon Newcomb, speaking in 1902 stated that “Flight by machines heavier than air is unpractical and insignificant, if not impossible”. Glad we didn’t waste time on that project. (See Youtube below)

Today psychologists inform us that all worthwhile research or exploration must be evidence based!  Yet Freud discovered defence mechanisms, & Piaget discovered all of his ideas from studying his children. Maslow’s ideas or Erikson’s would be just wild speculations. But lets get sillier, all future discoveries will be evidence based!  (sic) The reality is more likely that most breakthroughs were accidents & met with huge opposition especially from scientists & still are!

We have our Galileo’s still but we also have our Inquisitors!
